Oh, thank you, dear! I’m really glad to hear you enjoyed it! I do have a soft spot for vampires but this one and ‘Blood’ are the only LotR FPS vampire!fics I’ve ever read. If reading one’s own counts…

Anyway, I loved building and exploring this universe, being allowed to toy a bit with Aragorn’s character and host a blood bath :) There exists more background info than was included in the stories but I never felt a need to present it, really. I leave it up to my lovely readers to figure it out themselves – or come up with their own ideas and conclusions.

Oh, and I’m thrilled you liked the line about Faramir’s cold tongue, because I happen to like it very much myself!

Okay, so I read this just before bed a few nights ago, and then promptly went on to have a very vivid dream all about it, which was rather intense! (and the reason my comment is only coming now is because I was without internet for a short while there :P) Anyway, I’ll admit that I’m not the biggest vampire fan in the world, in fact I kind of avoid the whole craze for them at the moment, BUT, I started to read this story, and then I realised I had to slow down because I was going to have it finished in five minutes flat because it is so. bloody. good. (no pun intended!) I was a little afraid at the start that it would be overly ‘vampire-y’ but no! There’s a more supernatural feel, it’s never explicitly stated what’s happened which I liked. I could picture everything in my mind so clearly, there was this great feeling of dread, of something terribly wrong going on that was so chilling but I was completely engrossed at the same time. This line; “he feels how a cold tongue rises against his lips and begins to lick them clean” sent a chill up my spine, the whole concept I found fascinating and perfectly envisioned, so help me I may have been converted (I really want to write something n this vein now-…I swear these puns aren’t on purpose!)

This is seriously one of my favourite fics now; blood, death, loss, dread, passion and lust- a rather heady combination which you’ve made utterly beautiful and compelling, so much so that I was rather upset to find I’d finished reading it! :P Thank you! :)

I think I’m delirious with sheer glee. This is amazing. Like, amazing. I thought, vampires wtf?! But it turned out to be brilliant. I’m so happy you exist and write things.

Actually, my dear Geale, I wasn’t even fishing for a further prequel. . . this time ;) I am quite content to wonder about it in my own head in this case.

So, let’s see… I think I’m of the same opinion as Grey Pigeon: I like this one better than ‘Blood’. Mostly, maybe, because I sort of already knew this universe and only needed to expand…. And because this version of Aragorn was a treat to write! He can’t always be perfect and respectful.

Michelle, you should be lucky I – so far – don’t mix my genres. When I read your comment I had a fleeting (but most passionate) idea of writing a vampire version of Author’s Notes. It’s probably safe to say that will never happen – I’d be forever despised in the fanfiction community ;)

I think I will leave this universe to itself for some time now (so Trixie you shall have to live with wondering whatever did actually happen to Aragorn), because I have far too many other stories to write. I seem to remember a discussion about another prequel, once upon a time in November last year…

Delicious! I’m constantly amazed at the scope of your writing. How do you manage to write something so lighthearted and fun like “Author’s Notes” only to then go and write something as dark as this. It’s most puzzling, probably because I envy your various talents:)

I liked the dark and gloomy atmosphere, which was only strengthened by the initial insecurity of all the characters. You can’t really place Aragorn in the beginning. Things only become clearer towards the end, just as their feelings for one another only fully emerge and become tangible after the big battle.

You wrote it! And so much better than anything my imagination could have dreamed up.
The tone and the mood are established immediately. And Aragorn is quite chilling! Now you have me imagining exactly what happened to him :) Then Faramir is so compelling.

“From the moment I found you in the Darkness…” I think the mystical quality of their first meeting is a big reason why I continue to find this pairing so intriguing. It’s interesting to see you write it from Aragorn’s perspective again, too.

I liked this one even better than the “Blood”. And though character death is not mu cup of tea, this time it was possible to accept and understand, for the vampiric motives – in all of their moonlight glory – though of course they involve death, they also leave a dark and twisted hope. So, I knew they won’t die, and I could read it.^^ Seriously now. The atmosphere – brilliant. Aragorn – this time totally undefinite, impossible to understand, dark and deep – forgive my lack of better words. But it’s said in a good sense. That’s a difficulty to create someone like this Aragorn. Yet in the same time I’m a bit afraid of him, such a delicate prompt not to become too complacent while reading… strange feeling indeed.

I liked the most this sentence: “The bow of Daënon the proud shall never sing again.” I don’t know why, but as I read the story yesterday and left it to think it over through the night, I repeated this sentence in my head like a mantra. This is one of this two: 1) It’s something wrong with me 2) It’s something so moving about that metaphore. It was a shiver down my spine when I read it the first time.
