Oh, I have somehow missed this lovely comment of yours – sorry about that! This story was the beginning of a big adventure (‘The Coldest Winter’) but it still pleases me to know that this fic stands on its own. Essentially, I suppose, it’s about the choices we make, what we do and what we don’t do. I’m very glad to hear you enjoyed it!

This is interesting: the ending seems to be a happy one, yet I am filled with sadness after reading this tale… It is very painful to see how easy it is for people to misunderstand each other, even admittedly clever people like our characters. And to think of it, had Faramir not done what he did, things would have likely never been cleared between them… This notion, in my view, gives the story a very special fragile kind of beauty.

A hypothesis? Yay!

Hypothetically, I would cheer on your inspiration faeries until they complete their task.
Then I would give a big hypothetical hug to Anastasiya for being the first to ask.
Next, I would hypothetically hug Ingrid for reminding that there is always hope. (Even if it’s only a fool’s hope.)
Then I would squeal (if I were the squealing type, which I certainly am not.), give you a huge hypothetical hug, and tell you we love you. (I wouldn’t tease otherwise!)
All of this is, of course, purely hypothetical ;) Not like I shall be going back and re-reading what you wrote about their first time. . .

So, it might have happened that I updated my A/L fic, consequently buying myself some time, and I might have spent a few hours rereading this piece and tcw to see what I actually did say about their first night. And I might – just might – have been assaulted by some very persistent inspiration faeries that had a few things to say regarding that particular event.

Apart from that (not mentioning the devious haunting strategy I’m developing), I’m doing nothing at all.

Hypothetically, if I were to write about this, I would hypothetically begin in a not too distant future.

Hah! You do both realise that my Aragorn/Legolas fans are beginning to hate me because those stories never get updated? They’re sharpening their stakes and loading their guns as we speak! I will make no promise what.so.ever – except that should I ever write a prequel to this, and the Aralas fans get to me first, I will come back and haunt you ;)

I agree with Anastasiya :) . I have often wondered about their first time that led to the many chapters that followed. Seems you already have so many requests …so what’s one more. Right? ;)

That’s an interesting thought… I’ll have to retrace my steps then. I’ll think about it, and maybe someday we’ll even see it done.
