Yes! It’s now been over a year, and it’s actually not felt that long at all to me, so I’m not sure how that reflects on my attitude to writing! And this is my first het story which I absolutely loved writing! (My forever-in-progress epically long fic has a lot of Eowyn, and I wanted to give her something of her own as well because she’s been waiting long enough for me, I think!)

Anyway, thank you for your lovely (as always) comment! I wanted the story not to be about Eowyn’s healing, as in, she’s healed that night, but more of a look into the healing process, one night of many. And Faramir too, though his issues here are not the focus, and indeed I like to think, here anyway, that Eowyn herself is the remedy to much of what plagued him, still I think they do need each other, and there’s still some distance to walk together before both can look back and see only green fields (forgive the needless poetic babbling!) I do love Eowyn, and I keep starting things set in Rohan about her and leaving them unfinished, which is entirely disrespectful to her I suppose, but one day I shall give her proper tribute :P

I am very well! I booked my flights for Aus today so I am rather excited! Aaah, it’s happening! It’s been a horrid, horrid windy wet day today, I hope the summer’s still sunny with you! (Forgive me but I can’t remember if you’ve moved to your new place yet or not…if so, how did it go? Well I hope! And if I’ve already asked that then ignore me!) Now, I found this very interesting. On one level it is a very sweet and “simple” (as in not very complex) story; even though it touches upon some terrible issues, you show us the happy outcome. Yet, I cannot shake this feeling of… sadness, I think. I don’t know if I’m imagining this slightly darker layer somehwere between the lines, but I get the feeling that although Faramir keeps her safe and happy, Éowyn is not fully healed. Which of course shows clearly in the way you have made her troubled by naightmares, but still… Oh, I don’t know, I just still feel it at the end. Ah! I love it :D I’ll be thinking about this today…

I really liked these lines: “How wonderful it is to die with honour, she thinks. How dutiful.” How often are one taken for the other, honour and duty?

And is it only a year since you joined? It feels so much longer :)
