Oh, this is so pretty!! I do remember us talking about your love of drawing (I didn’t imagine this did I??) once upon a time and it’s great to finally see something you made! This, I believe, is Faramir in his true element and it’s definitely lovely!

I adore the concept of a ‘summer storm’ of flowers and leaves – thank you for that, raven! :)

Ah, yes, and where do I fill in the membership application form for the Appreciation of Laughter-lines Club?

Again, so, so pretty!

I absolutely love Pope Joan (I think I have a Dutch copy), probably one of the weirder films I think I’ve ever seen but that river scene…oh my. And then the lake scene. Oh me oh my! :P It’s a bit like the further adventures of Faramir (in which he falls in love with the pope. Now there’s a sentence I’d never thought I’d ever type.) in which he has discovered some medieval hair-straighteners :P (Also Iain Glen is in it and he is a handsome gentleman!)

Ahem. That fic will one day surface. Or I’ll at least send you some of the better bits at some point. The whole first part (which is set in the past) is quite lengthy and sets up the whole story…and the whole thing needs re-written because it’s actually terrible and doesn’t flow together at all and argh. So I’ve been stalling and procrastinating over doing that. The latter half is actually mostly readable, but I reached a point whereupon I didn’t know what to put in between the scene I’d gotten up to and the last quarter of the story so that they connected together. Sigh! I usually never have a plan as well! (Though I did sort out the issue of heirs for once!) ANYWAY, young Faramir in the wild indeed;
plenty of illicit encounters in the woodlands and so forth ;) And a hefty dose of angst!

I love to work manually because it’s what I’m used to, I used to draw for hours and hours and hours as a teenager, and of course this was in the days before…well, maybe not before Photoshop but before I had Photoshop or the internet or a computer and so on. The tablet itself I find easy to use but I have shaky hands and linework-precision is a nightmare, so nothing ever gets finished when I draw in Photoshop. That said, I do have another picture that I will post here soon enough, though it’s not exciting so don’t wait up or anything :P

Thank you so much again! :D

Don´t ever feel apprehensive! It´s beautiful – and now that I know the source it rouses the fondest memories of Pope Joan. :) And may I say that regardless of the circumstances I´m still nurturing the hope that one day, in a dimension far far away, your fic will see the light of day? Young Faramir in the wild, NOM NOM NOM – and I´ve just realized that the picture is named after a Marlon Brando movie which, don´t ask me for the reason, makes it all even more delicate. :P

Laughter lines… (dreams) Heheh, I was just reading the label on a bottle of sunscreen, and when it said “prevents sun creases” I was “NOOOOOOOOO!!!” XD Okay, err, completely unrelated, I admit. (cough cough)

May I also add that I admire you for scribbling with Photoshop? And that it´s the same with me; even though the program is available I´d rather like to work manually. It´s just another feeling, more… “haptic”, I don´t know. However, please unleash more of your art! I´m totally sure the world will be able to deal with it! ;)

Thank you!! :) I was a bit apprehensive about unleashing my ‘art’ (pppft, if you can call it that!) onto the world but I’m glad it’s not caused immediate damage :P Sadly I’m only slightly proficient in copying existing images, this one was cribbed from a Pope Joan screenshot. The story that I never seem to get any further on (it’s been over a year in the writing…aaagh!) features a young Faramir out in the wilds for the first half, and that basically explains the slap-dash foliage :P And who could forget the beloved laughter-lines!

I really prefer to sketch with pencil and paper but this piece was done entirely in (my 7-year old version of) Photoshop with my (9, 10?-year old) tablet, haha! I’m not exactly up to date :P Thank you so much again! :)

Aaaw, that´s pretty! I didn´t even know you draw as well! And I LOVE all the different sorts of flowers (and the butterfly) and the way they surround him like… like a summer storm!

My most favourite part? The little sun creases around his eyes. There is never a Wenham-Faramir portrait completed without them. So beautiful. (sighs)

By the way, and I hope this is not a question too personal, did you do it via Photoshop or “manually”? I tried to find out but wasn´t exactly sure…
