Lovely fic! Quite unusual. I loved Faramir’s notion that he was a pace away from being exiled, it was funny to see him so worried after all his cheek! And the fact that he didn’t want to stay the night because he didn’t know Aragorn well enough, even after throwing himself at the King, mouth-pleasuring him and all… it seemed so strange and yet I think it was a good choice. Damrod was very nice, too (not a tad jealous and so shrewd, what a jewel of a man!). Thanks for this story!

So beautiful! By now that pairing didn´t do much for me but I admit I am cured. ;) You are an incredibly skilled writer! The unexcited and measured pace reminds me very much of the book whereas the dialogue totally nails the movie characters. Faramir´s tenderly ironical attitude is wonderful. That´s how I figure him to be when he´s relaxed and self-confined – as in the movie scenes with the hobbits for example. And I like the notion of Aragorn (hee hee, ´Raggy´ XD) being every inch the strong responsible leader and yet being okay with Faramir having his way with him. Actually what I read in this constellation is that in every person there´s room for every feeling. One moment you can be in charge and the next moment you may submit to another person and feel totally comfortable with it (and without loosing the tiniest snippet of your dignity).

Alright, this might be a tad over-interpreted. ;) All I wanted to say was: I totally loved your style and I could have basked for hours in the world you created. Thank you so much for sharing! :)

This story is so much fun I can’t even properly say right now. The characters are real and I love it. Should there chance to be a sequel, I pity Damrod.

Anyway, thank you thank you!! :D I’m so glad you enjoyed it, it was so much fun to write, and the argument especially so! ;) Obviously, with it being an awkward situation and all it was right up my alley, and since I don’t think I’ve written Faramir and Aragorn as being anything other than nice to each other it was a fun change! And I think angry/frustrated!Aragorn has managed to find himself a place in my heart along with defiant!Faramir :P

As for Damrod, well, I might be a little in love with him :S Being able to sort of create my own character with him was such good fun; I really like the spin you’ve put on his character as well…I hadn’t really thought of him being too bothered by Faramir’s feelings for Aragorn but maybe he would have said yes to Faramir if his captain had diverted such feelings toward him? Who knows, it’s something I will need to explore-and as I said to Iris I think that a ‘prequel’ of sorts is definitely on the cards, I really want to write about Faramir and Damrod’s ‘relationship’ now :P (and of course such a story will contain copious amounts of ranger banter!)
And the moonlit kiss; I wanted to come from a slightly different angle on that; instead of a drunken liaison with fumbling hands and urgency I thought it’d be different to have the pair of them be unexpectedly tender (they know what they’re doing and who they’re doing it with, and there’s certainly feelings mixed in there somewhere), despite it not being a thing. Plus, it served to bother Aragorn a little more than if it was just a heated embrace, don’t you think?

The argument! I LOVED the argument! I don’t know if that’s a proper way to start a review but really, I thought it was amazingly written! Cheeky Faramir and angry Aragorn… or frustrated, rather, make for some excellent action :D Ah, how you always steer them away from the Path of Communication! Then you had me laughing at Aragorn’s inner monologue when Faramir showed up on his doorstep late at night :) Loved that too!

OK, so the Damrod/Faramir relationship turned out less romantic than I initially thought it would be, but let me just comment on that kiss they shared in the very beginning. The way you wrote it… I don’t know how you did it but it was so sweet. Pure, even, if you like. It got to me in some way – I absolutely adored it. In that moment, things seemed so very uncomplicated. Now, despite him being involved with a few people and being all casual and such about it, I somehow got the feeling that Damrod was just a tad disappointed when Faramir admitted to his feelings for Aragorn… I do wonder if he (Damrod) would have liked that thing that never was to develop into something more…?

And although, as you pointed out, it’s not really significant to the story, I very much liked Faramir not being Steward in this one. The whole thing does work much better with him being ‘only’ Captain of the Rangers.
