Bringing him home

Alex, thank you!

Iris, haha, just like there’s something special about muddy!Faramir and sleepy!Faramir and bloody!Faramir? ;) Good you like!

Anna, thank you! I’m very happy you liked it. As for more, right now I’m devoting my time to writing other stories but you never know! There might be more of this pairing in the future.

Trixie, me too! Faramir and Arwen, I think, are not so different and I’ve always liked her. However, when Aragorn’s involved I do prefer him with the Steward :) And thank you for liking that particular quote. It’s a dreadful fate… But I do think you mean, Celebrían? ;)

Eora my love! Wow, I remember when I was talking about this one, too, and I’ve had so much trouble finishing it! Even though it’s written from Arwen’s POV I just wanted to get rid of her so that the boys could get together undisturbed. That, of course, would have ruined the whole plot, but for such a long time I just found her to be redundant. And perhaps I was just a tiny bit jealous, hehe ;) In the end, I’m simply happy if it all works.

The whole Arwen-sleeping-with-Faramir posed such a problem for me! I realised that that particular line about her carrying his children (in more than one sense) risked coming off as a bit cheesy, but if it gave you an aww moment and didn’t make you cringe, then I’m happy! I don’t know… I’m still not completely at ease with seeing Arwen and Faramir so at ease with each other! :D (He is Aragorn’s, after all!)

In any case, I’m very pleased that the storm/worry part worked. One of my lovely reviewers once pointed out to me that my characters are often very connected to the weather; whatever happens in their lives, the weather plays a part, too. I like that. I like weather.

Ah, I don’t know! I do like how it turned out, but… My next thing will be Aragorn/Faramir only!

Susana, you are very welcome! As is evident from my comment here, I had some huge issues with this one. Thank you for reading and liking!

Bringing him home

I absolutely loved this – the strong, caring Arwen, the loving relationship between the three of them. I loved how Arwen and Aragorn took care of Faramir. Thank you so much.

Bringing him home

Aaah! I remember when you mentioned working on this story and I’ve been keeping an eye out for it ever since…and now it’s here and it’s (naturally) wonderful! Right from the start I really liked the idea of Minas Tirith being slightly ‘grittier’ in my mind’s eye, it just made everything more atmospheric; I loved how the storm seemed to just pervade everything- it wasn’t overdone, but I just felt the chill of the rain and how the storm outside reflected the worry and fear that Aragorn and Arwen were trying to suppress within. Such an effective and subtly written metaphor! (And I can’t express enough how much I loved the opening and closing lines, they tie the story together so well both literally and metaphorically and just, yes yes yes!)

I always get really excited when I see you’ve written a new story and this was certainly no exception! I find sometimes that more-than-two-in-a-bed scenes can be tricky to get just right, but you wrote this so beautifully…again I have to mention I really felt the worry radiate from Aragorn and Arwen, and I loved how the whole situation between them and Faramir isn’t stated outright at the beginning, but develops as you make your way through the story, so you gradually realise the depth of their concern and the unusual bond that all three share is more than what it first seems. The part about Arwen not caring for lineage or bloodlines and letting Faramir be the one who does the deed I thought was perfect in illustrating that depth too (extremely uncharacteristic of me but I literally had an ‘awww’ moment when I got to this line- “Proudly would she carry a babe through the hallways of the House, and to her it would not matter if the soft curls were dark or auburn.“) Solving the problem of heirs rather neatly, I think ;)

And Faramir, poor Faramir…and I don’t mean this in a sense of, I don’t know, ‘why can’t he catch a break’ or anything like that, but to see that despite the haven he has with the Royal couple and the happiness he has found there there is still shadow and darkness and I do feel sorry for him. But as always (for I will forever bow down to your writing skills when it comes to angst themes) you’ve touched upon his pain and his troubles in a way that doesn’t lay it on too thick but still you know that for a while at least, even though he has found happiness in this strange but beautiful love, there will still be stormy nights ahead, perhaps? But he won’t ever be alone (and I can’t believe I’ve not mentioned it yet but yes, that bedroom scene was rather lovely ;) Something about Faramir and Aragorn‘s kiss while Arwen is watching…oh my!)

I could actually go on forever here, I keep going back and finding things that I loved (”Arwen saw the boy he had once been, and the old man he would someday become.”) or made me smile (”It is good to hear it, Aragorn, while I’m touching your wife.“) or that broke my heart (Faramir’s “Sorry…“) How do you do it?! Thank you so much for sharing, I really honestly loved this to absolute pieces! (Is my writers’ block cured? I’m certainly very inspired right now!) Thank you! :)

Bringing him home

Once again, I am so impressed with your ability to weave different moods and atmosphere for your tales.

“when she had learnt of the attack on her mother, of how her beautiful fëa had been twisted into a rotting darkness that consumed her from within; and was a force unstoppable.” That is such a visceral description of Elwing! It really captures the depth of her pain and why she had to leave her husband and children behind.

I have always been intrigued by Faramir and Arwen. I can see a bond forming between them. Even better if it goes this far ;)

Bringing him home

I loved your story, it was so sweet how Aragorn and Arwen cared so much for Faramir.
I really hope you write more stories about these three—this is the first I’ve ever read where it was just those three together and it’s so quickly become one of my favorites.
